This weeks class learned ‘front on perspective’ – a perfect opportunity to draw some of Devonport’s finest old ‘villas’ or, any house anywhere in the world you like to take your pen and sketchbook. Our newly discovered use of watercolour has opened some’ blooming ‘ great results. We learnt how to mix ‘black’ and apply colours quickly to our sketches. Tuesday class had to battle some rain but the fact that we were sketching outside a café made it all the easier. Saturday sketches had better weather and we walked along the road and pulled out our sketchbooks much to the curious glances of passers by. Its ok sketchers – they all just want to be doing what we are doing – and “no we are not from council making notes .“ Fun days both – and remember… time on paper – time paper.
